Are you tired of politicians from urban areas making policies that harm rural areas? As lifelong rural residents, we are too.
ย
There is a solution: rural areas need better representation in state and national government.
ย
But hereโs the problem: too many eligible rural voters donโt vote. Many of us plan to run to town on Election Day, but then the day gets away from us, bad weather hits, machinery breaks down, or a kid is sick.ย Other voters live far from polling locations, hindering their ability to vote.
ย
According to the latest data, about one-third of rural residents didnโt vote in the last Presidential election.

1. Check your voter status with your secretary of state/board of elections. You can Google "check my voter status" and your state's name.
ย
2. Make sure you are registered and active.
ย
3. In the fall, request an early ballot. Consult your state board of elections for details on when.
ย
4. The most important step is to ensure your friends and family get this message, too.
ย
Share this article and ask your friends to share it.ย If we spread the word, we can make a huge difference in rural America.
