About Us

The Western Sports Industry Coalition is a collective voice, presenting knowledge, experience, and legitimate, objective research to lawmakers to preserve and protect the future of Western sports events and cultural traditions and to substantiate the industry’s unified commitment to the welfare of animals.

The coalition was formed on the heels of animal extremists' proposed legislation, banning the use of western sports equipment including; ropes, spurs, bits, and flank straps, in the city of Los Angeles.

The future of rodeo, bull riding and similar events depends on the unity and  actions of all participants and fans. As an industry we must stop animal extremist groups' pushed legislation from passing and potentially spreading city by city.

THE TIME FOR TALK IS OVER

Animal extremists seek to end humans' use of animals for any purpose, including food, labor, entertainment, and exhibitions such as rodeos, bull riding, horse races, pony rides, and Charrerias.

Our industry must fight back now. Sadly, they have pushed their agenda significantly longer than we have collectively fought back.

The future of our industry is directly related to our ability to unite and fight back. We urge you to get involved and help us preserve and protect our valued and cherished lifestyle for now and future generations.

Take Action Today!

JOIN THE FIGHT

The Coalition's four-year battle against the rodeo ban in Los Angeles continues. Although we have successfully stopped the ordinance from passing several times, the fight is not over, and more cities are following in L.A.'s footsteps.

Just 121 miles south of Los Angeles, City Council member Kent Lee recently proposed an ordinance banning all rodeos in San Diego. It is evident and occurring that extremist groups are waging a city-by-city campaign to ban rodeos and similar events.
