New Animal Rights Group Targets Conservatives

Updated: Oct 2

Political conservatives have classically been the ‘safeguards’ of our way of life and rural America.

“Conservatives tend to support free markets and individual choice, and traditions such as hunting.” As our friends at HumanWatch shared in their recent article.

Simply put, the recently launched group, Wilberforce Institute, which is targeting political conservatives for support has an unclear agenda, but we know it won’t support rural American values.

“Normally, this [new group] wouldn’t be news; PETA people form new little groups all the time. But the Wilberforce Institute has a different agenda than most: It’s preaching to politically conservative people”, says the article.

Now, it’s NOT hyperbolic to say these animal rights groups want to end our lifestyles and change our food supply. They continually say we are antiquated animal abusers, touting themselves as animal welfare experts.

For some reason, we keep letting them do it even though the truth, data, and science are on our side. With yet another new group, this time targeting conservatives, we have more reason than ever to be concerned. Their attacks on our lifestyle and livelihoods keep hitting harder and closer to home, their wins keep piling up.

With our demographic of Ranchers, the Western Horse Industry, rural Americans, and the like, we could and should be the most financially well-heeled and influential lobby across the United States. We are also the group of people who are, always have been, and will always be the best stewards of animal welfare and the land.

Consider these questions:

  1. Why can our opposition tap into big money at the drop of a hat?

  2. Why are people so reluctant to take a stand for something they so obviously care deeply about?

  3. Why do we wait to be attacked before getting involved? Working from a defensive position is much more difficult.

  4. What does Western Justice need to do to get you involved? Whether it be as a member or a small or large donor.

We must catch up with these special interest groups. We have to be able to start from an offensive position and stop constantly playing defense. The narrative they weave is untrue, but they tell it well. The uneducated believe it and the work and money it takes to combat the lies is unbelievable.

If you want to keep the freedoms and lifestyle you enjoy, stop waiting to become a member, stop thinking someone else will take care of it, and instead be the person who acts. Then, we can continue our work protecting our history, our legacy, and our wonderful way of life.
